Waste is not just rubbish!
Every manufacturing company produces what the law designates as waste, even if the ‘waste’ is top quality cut-offs from window manufacturing or valuable metals or chemicals that are used in production then destined to be reprocessed and re-used in future operations.
The law requires that any ‘waste’ product must be disposed of in a controlled manner and a comprehensive record maintained. This record shows full traceability and methodology of waste disposal and must be held by the waste transporter.
Whether the ‘waste’ is destined for land-fill or re-processing, a ‘Duty of Care Waste Transfer Note’ must be completed with a copy issued to each partner.
Waste movement may only be carried out by an authorised contractor.
